Once it's gone it's gone

Once it's gone you never get it back

As we all know time is precious and once it's gone you never get it back. So I find myself at the end of January wondering why I didn't get as much done as I wanted to. The reason is snow or rather the lack of it. Let me explain...

During December I only travelled to essential meetings, primarily to customer premises and a couple of large internal gatherings. The snow meant that either my colleagues or I were not in a position to go in to the office for meetings so we would use our desktop conferencing and sharing tools contained in WorkLife™ to plan web based meetings. Whist I have been using it regularly to meet with my team over the past 6 months, adoption throughout the rest of the business has been slower.

Then January comes and internal face to face meetings are back on the agenda and I am doing more travelling which I am finding is less productive. So I have decided to start my New Year's resolution on 1st February which is to encourage the rest of my colleagues to use our collaboration services to help make us all a little more productive by travelling a little less.

There is of course another massive benefit of less travel of course, which is finding I go to the petrol station much less which I have to say is good for my wallet too.
