Revolutionary business continuity service gets businesses back online while problem is analysed and fixed - even AFTER disaster has struck
GLOUCESTER, 02 April 2008: Star, the business ISP, launches a revolutionary new business continuity service designed to get a business back online within three hours in the event of a disaster. In the event of an outage (whether caused by an ISP failure, internal infrastructure malfunction or a major event like flooding) Star’s new Critical Switch service will get a website back up and running by capturing website data and transferring it onto a standby environment to enable business-as-usual to be restored while the initial problem is resolved – even if the site is currently offline.
An independent survey of small and medium-sized business (SMB) leaders, conducted by Loudhouse Research for Star in January 2008, shows that the Internet now plays such a significant part of businesses sales activities that an outage of just half a day could put a business in danger.
Ben White, CEO of Star explains, “Businesses often miss the point when it comes to business continuity planning – they focus on fixing the problem rather than getting their critical business systems. Our new offering helps businesses fix their single biggest issue – getting back online quickly in the event of an Internet outage to minimise reputational and financial losses – while they analyse and solve the cause of the outage.
“Star has been at the forefront of SMB technology innovation for internet-driven companies for more than twelve years, and we see this latest service as one that will help safeguard small and medium-sized businesses’ online activities, regardless of their current hosting provider.”
Critical Switch starts from £200 per month. For sales enquiries please contact jgriffin@star.net.uk or call 0800 138 4443
