Star is a major employer in the Gloucestershire region employing over 200 staff in the Gloucester head office. Supporting the local community has always been integral to Star's philosophy and as a result, an extremely successful relationship with Gloucester Rugby Club has developed over the years. Gloucester Rugby Club currently compete in the Guinness Premiership, Anglo-Welsh EDF Energy Cup, and the European Rugby Cup competitions. | |

Star is also the lead sponsor of the 'Junior Talent Programme', part of Gloucester Rugby Club’s Community Programme. The focus is to create a high quality coaching and player programme for young players via participation in school or club rugby across the County. More than 300 players began the programme 18 months ago. From this initial intake, a group of 80 players were selected of which 7 have been given full time academy places.
