Department

The Customer Account Management team are a desk based sales team who report into the Regional Sales organisation. The remit is to define and deliver industry leading cloud services to UK mid market organisations. The focus is on identifying the most relevant market verticals within region and guiding the external and internal sales resources to the most appropriate target accounts within these sectors. 

Individual success will be measured by:

  • Year on year increases in sales (Annual Revenue and Total Contract Contribution)
  • Year on year increases in the portfolio spend of Acquire and Develop accounts
  • Sale of  “white space” net new services within the allocated account portfolio  
  • Accounts increasing in value to “develop” accounts

Purpose

To create / identify sales opportunities within the allocated account base through reacting to inbound leads and proactively managing a defined acquisition base within region.

Core areas of focus will be:

- Telephone based sales, including the use of on-line tools.
- Calling prospects to uncover opportunities for the full portfolio of products and services.
- Manage and sell into the “whitespace” for allocated accounts.
- To re-contract existing services to allocated accounts as directed by the Regional Director
- To qualify and hand off larger, complex opportunities to the high touch field sales teams.

  • Management of the New Logo and Acquisition customer base within region.

Principle Accountabilities

  1. Build positive and consistent relationships with the opportunity base.
  2. Up sell to existing customers as per growth targets, to include re signing / re contracting where appropriate.
  3. Develop and manage incoming opportunities in line with the sales strategy and in line with the defined stages of the sales pipeline.
  4. Be knowledgeable in those of Star’s solutions.
  5. Use customers’ incoming communications to keep them fully aware of the launch of new services and Star roadmap.
  6. Provide accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance as and when required by management.
  7. Ensure full compliance with all internal processes including accurate and timely maintenance of CRM records.

Profile of Job Holder

Essential

  • Telesales, sales and / or account management experience with at least some of this being spent within an IT Services environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working with a CRM system.
  • Understanding of the IT and Technology Industry.
  • Use of MS Office applications and email.
  • Resilience, tenacity, competitive spirit and desire to succeed.
  • Can do, flexible attitude to the work ethic.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to manage sales pipeline.
  • Basic selling skills.
  • Negotiation skills.

Desirable
